An impressive Well-Dressing was produced this year and attracted
a lot of favourable comments (and generous donations to our
charities) when displayed during the Spring bank Holiday. |

86 diners sat down for the 62nd
Charter Celebration dinner on Thursday 15th
May with the Town Mayor, Michael
Ratcliffe, Chairman of the Wirksworth and District
Probus Club, John Preece, Guest Speaker, Ashley
Franklin, and District Governor, Tony Stimpson
as guests of our Club.
37 members and their partners represented 12 visiting Rotary
Clubs; there were 28 members of our own Club accompanied by 13
wives and guests.
One of our members (Rob Sherlock, lower left
photo) had the pleasure of bringing his brother Jim
who is visiting from Canada.
President Peter presented Caroline Rossin
with a cheque for £2,600 for Rainbows Hospice.for Children and
Young People (upper left photo).

THANKS FOR LIFE
DaleDiva Concert, 27th February 2010
A thoroughly
entertaining evening was very well attended (much to the relief
of Braveheart) and was a spectacular focal event
for the activities we undertook during Thanks for Life Week..

88 Rotarians and friends
enjoyed the PRESIDENT’S BALL
at NBH with good food, despite some uncertainty abut the supply
of wine, and music that was good for dancing. Di
Tomlinson, as Last Year’s President’s Lady presented
Mairead with a splendid bouquet.

|
On Thursday 5th November
2009 our Honorary Member Reg Dean celebrated his 107th
birthday and President Peter, SVP Mel and PDG
Arnold went along to the celebratory party to offer our
Club’s congratulations and give him a bottle of Sloe gin to
enjoy later.
